Parvathi Nampoothiri

Parvathi is a planner, urban designer, strategic thinker and smart city leader, with twenty years of experience working in the UAE, KSA, Canada and the USA. She leads Buro Happold’s Urban Strategies team, delivering a range of projects across various cities in the Middle East. She draws on deep experience as a city planner working within Abu Dhabi Department of Municipality and Transport and with the City of Markham in Canada. Her work ranges from the development of strategic plans and policy though to the detailed planning, consultation, and delivery around urban transformation and placemaking at urban quarter and block level. She has led a wide range of projects including master plans, urban regeneration plans, public realm strategies, smart city plans, urban design guidelines, street design manuals, streetscape plans and development regulations across various geographic regions and integrating multiple disciplines and stakeholders. She is passionate about making cities better for the people and the planet, striving to create places and communities that are vibrant, healthy and sustainable.
