Saurav Choudhury


Saurav Choudhury is a Green Built environment expert at the CII Godrej Green Business Centre, Hyderabad, India. He is an Architect (University Gold Medalist) & Master Planner and presently Counsellor at Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), CII’s Centre of Excellence. He has work experience spanning over 12 years. He has represented India in Global Alliance Roundtable for Buildings & Cities Hong Kong and Singapore International Green Building Conference. He represents IGBC in Sustainability Committee of National Building Code of India, NIUA Climate Smart Cities, DPIIT Warehouse grading system in India.

He is IGBC AP, IGBC Faculty, Assessor and Co-author of 8 IGBC Ratings on green infrastructure & green built environment addressing Villages, Cities, Hill centric development, Transit projects.

Based on industry interaction, he has compiled 5 national publications covering CII’s contribution to National Green and Sustainability Movement, India’s leadership in Green Cities, Sustainable Urban Mobility, India’s Green Railway Stations and CII Green and Liveable Cities.

He has been involved in IGBC Certification of India’s first 15 Green Cities,

35 Green Villages, 50+ Green Metro & Railway station projects and 300+ green building projects including Warehouses and Logistics Park. He has conducted more than 100 Training Programmes and is regular speaker at conferences on Low carbon cities and Green infrastructure.

He has completed 4 international funded projects with Sweden India Business Council, Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation and UN Environment Programme on smart cities, piloting green railway stations and climate-resilient and low carbon development pathway.
